INSPIRE. EDUCATE. EMPOWER.

Teaching kids yoga is so much fun and always brings JOY!
I started my mindfulness journey by listening to the sound of a bell in my classroom and realized how beneficial it is for me and for ALL of us to learn how to pause and breathe. We can teach children the importance of noticing the moments of beauty that are all around us each day, as well as the beauty within each of us.

Kids need compassionate leaders to teach them skills to navigate the stresses of our busy world, slow down from life's fast pace, unplug from devices and the chaos that overstimulates our brains, bodies and hearts, and learn how to find calm. Calming tools are a great way to help children (and adults) build self-awareness, regulate their emotions, and feel centered and relaxed.  Teaching kids breathwork, guided imagery, yoga and meditation, music and movement, expressive writing and journaling allows for time to take a breath, be creative and have fun. Every one reaps the rewards of freedom in laughter!

Are you interested in guiding kids to develop positive social skills, have a pocket full of instant calming tools and build connections that radiate joy? Kids Yoga Clubs plant seeds of compassion, empathy and patience, and serve as a reminder to laugh, live mindfully, be kind to others and live in gratitude.  Starting a kids yoga club is simple! All you need is an open mind, a calm heart and KIDS! Plant a Kids Yoga Club in your community and watch how you, and others GROW!

Mitzi Rose Johnson, MEd, 200 RYT, Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, Advanced Practitioner in Mind-Body Medicine, and Peace Through Yoga-Director of Kids Yoga Clubs

Mitzi has a passion for teaching yoga and mindfulness to everyone, everywhere! She is an elementary school teacher and began her yoga journey in her classroom! She uses breathwork, guided meditation, loving-kindness phrases, music and movement, and journaling to provide a safe space for kids to regulate their emotions and feel a sense of calm in their minds, bodies and hearts. While teaching children the tools of mindfulness, she was receiving the same benefits of self-care. This ignited a passion to learn more, practice more, and share more! Mitzi became a yoga teacher in 2019 and received certifications in Kid's yoga, Restorative yoga and Yin yoga in 2022. While attending a 10-day silent retreat at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California, she experienced the gift of true inner peace. This led to a two year study of meditation with the focus on awareness and compassion practices. She received her Mindfulness and Meditation teacher certification in 2025 and has learned how to pause and appreciate time to relax, restore, and rejuvenate. In late 2025, she began studying self-care skills through The Center of Mind-Body Medicine and became an Advanced Practitioner. She recently became the Director of Kids Yoga Clubs for Peace through Yoga and offers a train-the-teacher model to teach others how to spread awareness for the need for mindful tools in our daily lives. She is a lifelong learner and values a life balanced by tasks and lists of things to accomplish with completely unplugging, appreciating nature and being in stillness. Mitzi’s yoga classes are inspired by affirmations, heartfelt experiences, and curiosity. Her desire for herself, and for others, is to continue to learn, grow and meet life’s challenges with ease and joy!
