Azores, Portugal

We left the Azores trip so inspired and grateful for the experience! We want to do another trip with Peace Through Yoga again! Our tour guide, Christine, was amazing. She was so calm and organized, which made all of the group feel so relaxed and taken care of. Thank you!

What an amazing trip from start to finish in Azores! Christine had every detail expertly planned and executed. The trip leaders added so much to the group experience with their fun, humor, and laughter. The Terra Nostra Hotel was fantastic! I loved every part of the experience, from the geothermal pool and botanical gardens to the beautiful rooms and the wonderful restaurant and bar. The hikes were varied, scenic, and memorable. The waterfall hike through Salto do Prego felt like something out of Jurassic Park! The Janela do Inferno and Sete Cidades hikes were both incredible, and I want to return just to hike the Sete Cidades crater rim again in clearer weather. It was that amazing. I also loved the food, our shared meals, and the attention to detail that went into every aspect of the trip. Everything came together to create an unforgettable experience.

I loved this experience in Azores. Christine and her crew were fabulous. I loved not having to plan a thing, just woke up and asked what are we doing today? It was so fun, our group had a good time together and the hiking, hotels, meals, whale/dolphin watching and SUP on a beautiful lake were all fabulous. I also appreciated exploring a bit and a couple meals on our own. A nice balance which made for such an enjoyable trip. I highly recommend!
England, Cotswolds

This Peace Through Yoga trip walking half of the Cotswold Way in England, from Painswick to Bath was one of my favorite all time trips, seven of us and our excellent guide, Christine. If you have the chance to go, just do it.

Another great trip with Christine! Well planned, adjusted where needed, lunch locations after hiking were local, not touristy. The views were phenomenal! We felt immersed in England!

Christine is an amazing trip leader; I would follow her anywhere. And the nature, culture, and people of Thailand are beautiful. So worth the long flight!

Bodhi Tree is an amazing resort and yoga retreat. I loved everything about it. The yoga studios are the best ever, large, comfortable and beautiful. The layout of the resort allowed for exercise in the most awe-inspiring accommodations. Terrific healthy meals every day kept us fortified for our adventures. I hope to return to Bodhi Tree.

I just wanted to thank you for organizing such an unforgettable trip to Banff, Canada. Everything was so thoughtfully planned. From our two local guides (they were a blast) to the awesome lunches, dinners and yoga. Oh, I can't forget the breakfasts!! Seeing and exploring beautiful Banff with my three besties and meeting new friends was really one of the best experiences of my life!!

I can't believe it has been a month already since we all met in Banff! I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to go on that trip, and for your kindness, leadership, knowledge, and loving heart during the trip.

On most weekdays from 9 to 5, I'm sitting in front of a laptop at a desk or in a meeting room. Today in that same timeframe, I biked for an hour, hiked 2 miles through the Sundance Canyon, kayaked on the turquoise blue Bow River, and attended a yoga class at the Banff Park Lodge. This adventure trip to Canada with 3 of my dear friends from home stretched me physically and restored me mentally. I needed this break from a stressful summer. As a bonus, we made new friends, too! Thank you, Peace through Yoga and Sally Bassett for an incredible journey. I hope to return here one day. Until then, I'll take home some wonderful memories and lots of awesome photos. Really though, no camera can do this scenery justice. You must get to the Canadian Rockies to see it for yourself if and when you can! I will be forever grateful that I did.
Portugal

Hiking the Fisherman's Trail in Portugal was a life-changing experience. As I followed the rugged coastal path, with the Atlantic crashing below and endless cliffs stretching ahead, I felt a deep sense of freedom and connection to nature. It's a trail that humbles you with its beauty, challenges you with its sand, and rewards you with fresh seafood that tastes like it was seasoned with sea breeze, love and divine intervention. Every village felt like stepping into a postcard, except with better wine and fewer tourists. But the storks! The only ones in the world who thought, "Yeah, let's build our nests on sea cliffs where no predator dares to go." Majestic, stubborn, and unbothered by the crashing waves below. In short, this wasn't just a hike. It was a soul-stirring, stork-stalking pilgrimage that reminded me of how good it feels to be alive.
India
Sherry & Mike F.
We had a life-changing experience in India! The duality of chaos and peace makes India a feast for the senses. The ashram in Rishikesh was incredibly transformative and enriching. Surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayas and the sacred Ganges River, the ashram provided the perfect environment for growth, self-reflection, and physical rejuvenation. We followed a daily routine of meditation, pranayama, and asana practice. The nourishing Ayurvedic meals, the sense of community with people from around the world, and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in yogic philosophy made this trip truly special.
Camino de Santiago, Spain
Pam N.
I recently returned from a life-changing adventure walking the Camino de Santiago. From the moment we set foot on the Camino, there was an unspoken bond that formed among us. Some of us were strangers at first, but over the course of the journey, we became a tight-knit group, each of us sharing our stories, struggles, and triumphs. The beauty of walking through scenic towns, lush forests, and rolling hills was only magnified by the conversations we had along the way. Our guides were fantastic, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always encouraging when we needed that extra bit of motivation to keep going. The Camino is a journey of the heart and mind.
Guatemala
Tamie M., Attorney
In 2024, I traveled to Lake Atitlan in Guatemala with Peace through Yoga. Lake Atitlan is a crater lake located in the Sierra Madre Mountains. Our accommodations, Villa Sumaya, were situated right on the shore of the lake and surrounded by lush vegetation. We visited a Mayan village and participated in a cacao ceremony, led by an experienced Mayan guide. I especially enjoyed the kayak trip, as it was challenging but manageable. I'm also glad that I participated in the Chichimeca Sweat Lodge Ceremony. Throughout my time in Guatemala, I felt safe and well cared for.
Costa Rica, Caribbean Rainforest
Julie F.
I often close my eyes and transport myself back to a magical place deep in the Costa Rican rainforest. I hear the howler monkeys, see baby sloths, and watch colorful toucans swirling overhead. After traveling on retreats five times with Sally Bassett and Peace through Yoga, I would return again and again! Mornings and evenings were spent practicing yoga to the sounds of the jungle, while the afternoons offered the perfect balance of both leisure and adventure. The highlight for me was meeting and working with the girls at the Girls for Success School.
Uganda
Susie M., Travel Manager
In 2012 I was able to travel with Peace through Yoga to Uganda. It was one of the best trips of my life. I made new friends and had new adventures. We volunteered at a birthing center, had land and water safaris, and went rafting on the Nile River. The trip of a lifetime!
Banff, Canada
Connie P., Educator
I traveled to Banff with Peace through Yoga in August of 2024. Not only was the adventure full of hikes, an electric bike ride, and a gondola through Banff National Park, but the views were pristine from any angle. The Banff Lodge, where we stayed, bordered a breathtaking walk along the river that led to the Bow Falls. The days ended with yoga in the Banff Lodge, followed by different types of cuisine in the quaint town of Banff. One of the best outcomes of the trip was the wonderful, engaging conversations and the bonding with the people on this trip. I am already signed up for several future trips because traveling this way leads one to not only further self-discovery, but connections that can endure a lifetime.
Morocco
Michelle Q., Musician
Our trip to Morocco was amazing! Peace through Yoga offered a great itinerary that took us from the bustling city of Marrakesh to the Atlas mountains, then into the desert for glamping and even to the seaside town of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast. Sally, along with our Moroccan guide, provided a great experience, including a twice a day yoga practice and delicious culinary options. I look forward to joining this trip again!
St. George's Caye, Belize
Kim and Ken T., Environmental Engineer and Development Engineer
My husband and I had an amazing time on the private island St. George's Caye Resort in Belize with PTY. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've had, and we've been on many island trips. Everything we needed was right there at the resort, the meals were fabulous, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We took the Ambergris Caye snorkeling trip, visited San Pedro, and explored the ruins. Each experience was highly enjoyable, and the guides were extremely knowledgeable. We can't wait to return!
Costa Rica, Caribbean Rainforest
Olivia L., Student
I loved Costa Rica because of the rainforest and waking up to howler monkeys in our bungalow. Our trip was filled with adventures from zip-lining, hiking through the rainforest, swimming in waterfalls, doing yoga twice a day, experiencing a cocoa ceremony, going to different beaches and river rafting. The highlight was working in PTY's new Girls for Success School that was just finished the week we arrived. It was fun teaching the girls cooking easy recipes and making slime. Hope to go back someday to see my new friends again.
Tuscany
Janet S.
The Tuscany hiking trip with Christine was one of the best trips that I have done! Christine is an outstanding trip leader who pays attention to every detail in planning and had done the hike multiple times to ensure she was familiar with the trail and able to adjust the route if necessary. I will definitely do another trip with Christine in the future. Greece, here I come!
Peru
Alina, Doctor
Peru was truly transformative and unique because of the unexpected learning of the spiritual and cultural depth of that beautiful part of the world. I returned energized and with a full heart. I loved sharing this experience with the group of amazing women.
Peru
Lynn N., Yoga Teacher
The Peru Adventure and the stay at Willka T'ika was an experience I will forever cherish! I miss the gorgeous views, the aroma of flowers, the staff, the food, the tea bar, the beautiful rooms, and the hot water bottle in my bed, and that's just to name a few. The resort not only exceeded my expectations, but the entire group. We all loved the itinerary! The markets, ceramics, lunches, visits to local towns, sightseeing, visiting the school, and Machu Picchu were amazing! I also enjoyed the yoga and sound healing classes, spa, meeting the shaman, fire ceremony, the tour of the Chakra Garden, coca leaf reading, and sweat lodge. Hope to return soon.
Tuscany
Barbara
My recent Tuscany trip was amazing! I am not an avid hiker, but do like to walk and keep in shape. Christine and Letty were outstanding in thinking of all the needs of everyone in the group. They made sure we saw the best parts of Tuscany. Christine is extremely knowledgeable about hiking, knew what we needed to bring, how to use it, how to encourage us, let us have a lot of fun, and arranged extra adventures like wine tasting, great restaurants, picnics, and more! I have never done anything like this in my life and I am thrilled that this was my choice for my maiden hiking adventure. PTY has a brilliant team!
