Join Peace through Yoga on our five-day, four-night retreat to the Himalayan Institute, a world leader in the fields of yoga, meditation, spirituality, and holistic health.
Founded in 1971 by Swami Rama, the Himalayan Institute remains committed to bringing ancient Himalayan wisdom into modern life. For more than fifty years, the Institute has been a gathering place for people seeking inspiration and aspiring to restore inner balance. Home to a vibrant community of yogis, it is a sanctuary for seekers wishing to study the ancient traditions of yoga and deepen their connection to themselves and the world around them.

Our program will include yoga, meditation, hiking on peaceful trails, kayaking, lifelong wellness workshops, and optional therapeutic massages and other spa services, all set on the Institute’s beautiful and serene 400-acre campus in the Pocono Mountains. Whether you are seeking inner balance, quiet reflection, or meaningful community connection, the Institute provides a peaceful space for all.

4-night Accommodation in a Standard Room with shared bath, Deluxe Room, or Deluxe Suite
The Standard Room with two beds and a shared bathroom is where affordability meets privacy in these inviting, relaxing rooms. Each room features two twin beds and a vanity with washbasin, providing a cozy and practical space to unwind. Newly renovated individual bathrooms with showers are located just steps down the hall, giving you everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The Deluxe Room offers comfortable and spacious accommodation designed to provide a relaxing stay during your retreat. Each room features a private bathroom and your choice of two twin beds, one full bed, or one queen-size bed.
The Deluxe Suite offers a cozy oasis for rest and renewal with a queen-sized bed, a welcoming sitting area, a writing desk, a pull-out couch, and a private ensuite bathroom. (Please note one guest might be getting the pull-out couch, if two single people).

Enjoy three vegetarian meals prepared daily with fresh, seasonal ingredients to fuel your body, mind, and spirit. Savor signature chai tea, coffee, and homemade treats at the Himalayan Cafe, or unwind in the 24/7 Tea Lounge.

Ayurveda Workshop
Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems, originating over 5,000 years ago and remaining more relevant today than ever. Unlike Western medicine, Ayurveda is a holistic science that views wellness as a balance between mind, body, spirit, and social well-being.

After our workshop, find time to just “Be” and meditate at the Sri Vidya Shrine.

Harvest Moon Festival (9/22)
Celebrate the beauty of autumn at the Himalayan Institute’s Harvest Moon Festival, a joyful community gathering held at Sunset Pond and the Apple Orchard on the Himalayan Institute’s campus. As the sun sets and the harvest moon rises, join us for an evening filled with apple-inspired treats, live bluegrass music, seasonal traditions, and cozy moments around the bonfire.
Chai Party
Himalayan Institute’s chai has become somewhat legendary amongst thei guests, and for this reason, the Chai Party has become the most popular event add-ons. The Chai Party includes one gallon of chai and your choice of a dozen homemade cookies. Cookie choices include chocolate chip or peanut and wilderness.

Sally Bassett, Ph.D., 500 E-RYT, Founder/President of Peace through Yoga Foundation.
Sally Bassett, a passionate advocate for holistic living and global exploration, brings a wealth of experience to her teachings. With a career spanning more than four decades in the travel industry--from flight attendant to CEO--she has guided groups to more than 120 countries, integrating her love for yoga and adventure with her spiritual pursuits. Sally has dedicated over 20 years to teaching yoga, including owning and operating studios, teaching yoga philosophy as an adjunct professor at Butler University, and co-founding the Yoga and Spirituality program at the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. She continues to teach at Blossom Yoga in Zionsville, IN, and leads transformative yoga and adventure retreats worldwide. As the Founder and President of Peace through Yoga Foundation, Sally uses yoga as a tool for connection, fostering inner and outer peace. Her rewarding career and spiritual commitment make her a trusted guide for anyone seeking transformation through yoga. She is the author of “Spiritual Transformational Yoga”.

Award winning artist Michelle Qureshi is a composer, multi‐instrumentalist, and classically trained guitarist.
Michelle released her first of 20 albums and 44+ EPs/singles in 2012. Her music is heard worldwide, with tens of millions of streams on global platforms. Combining her formal training with intuitive and improvisational elements, she performs both as a solo guitarist and a presenter of sound experiences with her Harmonic Sound Immersion™. "My Harmonic Sound Immersion™ is a result of a desire to merge my craft as a classically trained musician and recording artist with a specific meditative and restorative experience."

Barbara Myers is a yoga and Ayurvedic wellness guide who has been exploring the healing power of ritual, movement, and plants since 2014.
She holds a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification, combining foundational training at Yoga Vida in NYC with advanced studies in prenatal and therapeutic yoga, and a 300-hour Ayurvedic yoga alliance training through the Shakti School of Ayurveda. This diverse education deepened her understanding of the body and nervous system. She is currently expanding her plant medicine knowledge through the Herbal Academy. Barbara is the founder of Wild Child Botanicals, a ritual-focused brand offering adaptogen honey blends and herbal tools to support hormonal balance, vitality, and inner calm. Her work blends simplicity with soul, helping others reconnect with nature through everyday moments of care. With a background in media and startups, she brings a creative, grounded approach to ancient wisdom. Her teaching style is warm, intuitive, and rooted in trusting your body’s natural rhythm.
